Mrs. Glenda Jean Carpenter (née Adcox) died peacefully in her home on May 31, 2015 in Picayune, Mississippi at the age of 72.

Glenda is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Regina and David Zinzer of Centreville, VA, Danielle and Rodney Lyle of Picayune, MS, and Melissa and Mickey Jarrell of Picayune, MS; eleven grandchildren, Heidi (Steve), Nicholas, Nathan (Darlene), Megan (Glen), Phillip, Taylor, Haley, Heather, Caleb, Ashlyn, and Olivia; six great grandchildren, Dallas, Emma, Addisyn, Nolan, Rylee, and Elijah; siblings, Hugh E. (Bobbie) Adcox of Brandon, MS, Gayle (Allen) Hill of Laurel, MS; sister in-laws, Nell Adcox, and Janelle Howell, and a host of nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Hulon Adcox; son, Charles “Phillip” Carpenter; siblings, Erlene Cooley, Bobby Adcox, Garland Adcox, and Kenny Adcox.

Glenda was born on June 21, 1942 in Picayune, MS to Mabel and Hulon Adcox. She was a long time employee of Sunflower. She was also a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at New Palestine Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. with internment at New Palestine Cemetery. Bro. Allen Hill will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Glenda’s life.
