Darrick Michele Dees, Sr. was born on August 25, 1958 to
the union of Calvin J. Dees, Sr. and the  late Alene Davison Dees in Picayune, Mississippi. Darrick transitioned from this life to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at his residence in Picayune, Mississippi.
Darrick was educated in the public schools of East Baton Rouge Parish School System and was a 1976 graduated in Baker High School in Baker, Louisiana. Upon graduating from high school, Darrick attended Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After leaving Southern University A&M College, he enlisted in the United States Marines Corp as a “Helicopter Mechanic” for nine (9) years.
Darrick memories will be cherished by his wife, Gilda Faye Johnson Dees, Baker, LA; two (2) daughters, Shevonda Crum, Baker, LA and Nyja (Jonathon) Roberson, Zachary, LA; two (2) sons, Darrick Dees, Jr., Oakland, CA and Darien Dees, Baker, LA; a special son, Markeith (Roslyn) Crum, Zachary, LA; father and stepmother, Calvin J. and Oletha Dees, Baker, LA ; mother-in-law, Clementine Johnson, Baker, LA; two (2) sisters, Genine (Sherred) Johnson, Atlanta, GA and Yvette Thompson, New Orleans, LA ; two (2) stepsisters, Nicole (David) Robert, Zachary, LA and Monique (Kevin) Davis, Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Jeffery (Dawn) Dees, Katy, TX and Calvin Dees, II, Zachary, LA; two (2) sister-in-laws, Sandra (Otis) Criss, Baton Rouge, LA and Sharon (Dr. Mark) Litt, Sr., Baker, LA; four (4) brother-in-laws, Donald (Pat), Hosie, Jr. (Sandra), Wendell and Trumaine Johnson, all of Baton Rouge, LA; six (6) granddaughters, Janiya Roberson, Zaria Drake, Johnnea Roberson, Keimani Comena, Madisyn Crum and Zoe Dees; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Alene Davison Dees, two (2) grandchildren, Xavier Elijah and Jordan Adia Roberson; maternal grandparents, Chauncy and Jessie Davison; paternal grandparents, Walter Dees, Sr. and Katie Mae Dees.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015,  at 11:00 a.m. in East Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1124 E. Jerusalem Avenue, Picayune, MS. Pastor Brian K. Dees will officiate. Visitation will be an hour prior to service time.  Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
