City, county offices close for Good Friday

Several government offices in Pearl River County will be closed in observance of Good Friday on April 3.
All county offices will be closed, County Administrator Adrain Lumpkin said.
The city of Picayune’s offices will also be closed Friday. However, garbage pickup will continue as regularly scheduled, Public Works Assistant Director Peggy Fore said.
The city of Poplarville’s office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
The Poplarville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce offices will be closed Friday. Both offices will be open for normal business hours Monday at 8 a.m.
All United States Post offices in the county will be open for normal business hours.
Several local pharmacies will be open for normal business hours including Picayune Drug Co., Boone’s Pharmacy in Poplarville and the Pearl River Drug Co. in Poplarville.
The Senior Center of South Pearl River County will be closed, however.
Rite Aid, Walmart, Winn-Dixie and Claiborne Hill supermarkets will be open for regular business hours.
Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart and their pharmacies will be open for normal business hours this weekend as will CVS, however CVS’ pharmacy will close at 6 p.m. Saturday and will be closed Easter Sunday, CVS store officials said.
In the event of an emergency, county first responders will be on call.
