Construction on the Love’s Travel Stop is nearing completion and the company is ready to start the employment application process.
Work began on the travel stop in late October of 2014, Alderwoman Shirley Wiltshire said.
Love’s Travel Stops media specialist Kealey Dorian said the company is looking to open their newest facility either by the end of April or beginning of May. Weather conditions have delayed the opening by about two weeks, she said.
The newest travel stop in Pearl River County is located at Exit 29 off of I-59 and Hwy. 26 and encompasses 15 acres, Dorian said.
The company is looking to hire mechanics, restaurant staff, cashiers and some administrative staff, Dorian said. Altogether, she said the company will hire about 40 people, who can work all shifts, as the travel stop will be open 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
The new travel stop will feature a large convenience store, Dorian said. Travelers can purchase snacks, gifts, gourmet coffee and other travel items.
“We have recently expanded our inventory to include a selection of electronics including GPS devices, televisions and DVD players,” Dorian said. “There are seven shower facilities for professional drivers.”
There is a separate facility on the back of the property, which is Love’s Truck and Tire Care Center. Professional drivers can have light mechanical work done, which includes brake work and tail light replacement, Dorian said. There will be 70 parking spaces for professional drivers.
Those dining at the Arby’s Restaurant have the option of dine-in or carryout, Dorian said.
“We pride ourselves on customer service,” Dorian said. “We want employees who will welcome our customers with open arms. We are looking for excellent and outgoing people who are willing to work hard. There are many opportunities for advancement within the company. It’s a wonderful place to work.”
