Funeral services for Ms. Tressie Mae Myers Levi, 87, of Picayune, will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.  Pastor Donald Parker will officiate.

Ms. Tressie Mae Myers Levi was born March 9, 1927 in Bassfield, Mississippi.  She was the daughter of the late I. V. Myers and Estella Myers.  She attended school in Jefferson Davis County.  She accepted Christ at an early age at the St. Paul Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lumzy.  She later moved to Picayune (Goodyear Community) where she united with St. Matthew Baptist Church.  After many years of living in the Goodyear Community, she moved to Weems Street where she united with Pleasant

Valley Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E. L. Fox where she served as an Usher.

She was employed at Crosby Memorial Hospital and later became self-employed owning and operating her café’ and rooming house.  Ms. Tressie Myers Levi was very well known in the Picayune area. She was lovingly referred to as “Ms.  Trust”.

Tressie Myers Levi departed this life on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. I.V. Myers; one sister, Flossie Mae Evans; and one daughter, Debra McDonald.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Jerry Myers and Thaddies Myers, of Picayune, MS; one foster son, Steven Joseph, of New Orleans, LA; one daughter-in-law, Norma Myers, of Picayune, MS; one sister, Peggy Magee, of Picayune, MS; one brother-in-law, Stepfon Magee, of Picayune, MS; five grandchildren, Clifton (Ann), Renea (Kelvin), Jerel (Kurtitia, Keith, Nigel (Temeka); nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; a very devoted caretaker, Bonnedda Richardson; two special cousins, L.T. Myers, of Chicago, IL and Jewel Washington, of Picayune, MS; many nieces, nephews, other cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m.  Interment will be in Picayune Cemetery. Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
