Dorothy J. McClendon, 81, of Poplarville, Mississippi, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at her residence.

Funeral services will be at White Funeral Home, 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 12:00 pm. Rev. Tommy Anthony will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation one hour prior the service, Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. McClendon was born April 17, 1933 in Summerland, Mississippi to James Kenneth Vardaman Walley, Sr. and Margie Adams Walley. She was a retired Hairdresser and a member of First Baptist Church, Poplarville where she served in the Card Ministry for over 15 years.

Family members include six children, James (Ann) McClendon, Donna (Terry) McGuyer, Janna Jackson, Mary Lou (Jeff) McElray, Lori (James) Bond, Judy (Roger) Myers; one sister, Carleys Burns; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two special friends, Donnie Graeter and Ginny Cagle.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, J.P. McClendon; two siblings, Doris Fitte, James Kenneth Walley, Jr., and one great grandson, Ethan Jackson.
