Funeral Services for Dorothy A. O’Meara, age 77, of Carriere, MS, who passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015, will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at 12:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Unity Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. Bro. Carl Heberg will officiate the service.
A native of Lone Oak, TX, she was a Homemaker and a member of Unity Baptist Church.
Dot was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who enjoyed cooking, gardening, and caring for her family and friends. Everyone could always count on her to “Hold down the fort!” and keep the family going.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 45 wonderful years, Charles O’Meara; son, Challen Reece O’Meara; parents, William Colbert Horton and Lee Edna Hall Horton; sister, Hazel Watkins; five brothers, Frankie, Eldon, Calvin, Wayne, and Rex Horton.
Survivors include her daughter, Marie Ann O’Meara; granddaughters, Charla-Ann Marie Cuevas and husband Kerry, Brittany Nicole O’Meara; great granddaughters, Caileah Nevaeh Cuevas, Kerrington Danae Cuevas; great grandson, Channing Dayne Cuevas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
