Veronica Whitehead Fowler, aka “ ROKA”, was born in Carriere, MS on October 14, 1957 to the late Mr. Robert & Mrs. Mattie Whitehead.

She entered into eternal rest on December 19, 2014, she was 57 years young.

Veronica joined New Hebron Baptist Church in Carriere MS under the leadership of Rev. E.H. Hart. She graduated from Pearl River Central High School and completed her education in the Job Corp. Veronica married Mr. Clemon Lee Fowler, March 1989.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mr. Robert Whitehead and Sister Mattie Rose Cook Whitehead; grandparents, Rosa Lee Williams and Laura Curry; sister, Robin Graham; son, Mario Andre Whitehead and best friend, Annie Mae Curry Whitehead.   She was humble and a very kind-hearted person and treated everyone the same with kindness.  Veronica was a loving daughter, sister, proud mother, and wonderful grandmother who shared her love unconditionally with her children, family and friends. She leaves to cherish many fond memories: one son, Corey Whitehead; one daughter,  Anitra Whitehead (Robert) of Jackson, MS; two brothers, Roger Lee Whitehead and Cecil Paul Whitehead both of Carriere, MS;  six sisters, Sharon, Margaret, Rosemary, and Annette Whitehead all of Carriere, MS, Cheri (Terrance) Walton of Gulfport, MS, Vicki (David) Henry of Carriere, MS; one grandson, Kenston DeAndre Smith of Jackson, MS; two aunts,  Sister Dixie Whitehead, and Sister Maggie Tyson  both of Carriere, MS; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in New Hebron Baptist Church, Pastor K. Martin Thomas will officiate . Visitation will be one hour prior.  Interment will be in the New Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.  Repast will in the home of her sister, Sis. Rosemary Whitehead, Carriere MS
