Harold Blappert Jr., age 69, of Picayune, Mississippi passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014.
A native of New Orleans, Mr. Blappert became a police officer and the K-9 Training Officer for most of his 20 years on the job. After retiring he went to Jefferson Parish where he also became the K-0 Training Officer for several years. After Katrina he moved to Picayune where he was twice elected as an Election Commissioner for Pearl River County. Mr. Blappert was a marine for 4 years. He was very involved in the 1st Presbyterian Church of Picayune.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold Blappert Sr. and Gloria Vignes Blappert; and 1 brother Darryl Blappert. He is survived by his wife Donna S. Blappert, daughter Hollie Markert; and 4 grandchildren Haley Calhoun, Joy, Grace, and Faith Markert, and one brother Farrell Blappert.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124.
