I don’t believe there is such a thing as one perfect handbag.

In fact, it is my belief that there are a number of perfect purses for almost every type of occasion, which is probably why I own so many.

The passion for purses began when I was in my early teens.

I saved every penny of my allowance to purchase the newest Nine West brand purse at the mall.

I have never had a penchant for clothes shopping, because, for the most part, clothes never seem to fit me well. However, a purse usually always fits, so whenever I shopped it was for that new wallet or bag (and of course footwear) that I told myself I needed.

I have many styles of handbags and all made by a variety of designers, because of course I’m a purse snob as my husband enjoys pointing out. (Don’t let him fool you, he now knows the different between an authentic Coach bag and a fake one.)

As my tastes matured, I realized the quality of products made by Coach, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Dooney and Bourke. (Don’t own that Louis Vuitton or Chanel yet, but one day I will).

However, the brand is not the most important part, it is the style and size of the bag that matter when it comes to utilizing the practical features of a purse.

I like to use a large shoulder handbag for an everyday look because it is big enough to hold a legal sized notepad, camera and everything else I store in my purse.

One of my favorite styles is the cross body bag. They come in a variety of sizes, depending on the outing.

I utilize my cross body purse when I’m shopping or strolling the streets of New Orleans or anywhere I like to have my hands and arms free for the day.

There are also evening clutches that add shine and sparkle to any fancy event.
