Local woman arrested for relations with teenager

Lafourche Parish, La. Sheriff Craig Webre announced on Tuesday the arrest of a Carriere woman for engaging in sexual relations with a teenage boy from Thibodaux.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, 27-year old Victoria Baker of 242 Anchor Lake Rd. was arrested after confessing to the crime.
At about 4:45 p.m. on Monday, law enforcement officials were dispatched to a Thibodaux residence after learning Baker had allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with a male teenager at the home, the release stated.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Office Public Information Officer Deputy Brennan Matherne said authorities were alerted to the case by the victim’s parents.
According to the release, investigators learned the sexual contact took place 10 days earlier and was consensual. Baker was an acquaintance of the victim.
Baker was at the Thibodaux residence when law enforcement officers arrived and was questioned about the incident, the release stated.
At that time Baker confessed to officers about her involvement and being aware of the boy’s age prior to engaging in sexual relations, the release stated.
Matherne said the victim is older than 13.
According to the release, Baker was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where she was charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond, the release states.
