Graveside Funeral Services for Gertrude M. Freeman, 92, of Brandon, Miss., formerly of Picayune, who passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014, will be held Tuesday, September 9, at 11 a.m. at New Palestine Cemetery.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Duffee, Miss., she was a Medical Receptionist and a member of Unity Baptist Church. Gertrude was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, G.A. Munn and Maggie Williams Munn; her husbands, Nilon Smith and Howard Freeman; and her son, James Thurman Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Smith Cooper; 4 grandchildren, Michelle Smith, Stephanie Howard Junkin, Donna Smith, and Joseph McCaleb; and 7 great grandchildren, Brandon Poirier, Daniel Junkin, Larissa Mealey Murray, Kasey Junkin, Sydney Mealey, Zach Wolff, and Faith Woerner.
