Dotsye Elaine Walker, 84, of Picayune, Miss., went home to heaven on Thursday, July 3, 2014. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Mars Hill Baptist Church, 6145 N Greensburg Rd, Summit, MS 39666 .
Visitation will be Friday, July 11, 2014 from 6- 9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 401 West Canal Street, Picayune, MS.
Burial will be in Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 6145 N Greensburg Rd, Summit, MS 39666 under the direction of Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home.
Local arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
The Rev. Bruce Fields and Dr. Larry Fields will officiate the service.
A native of Alexandria, La., where she met her loving husband, Tommy, they were married for 64 years. They were married in 1950. The two of them had the greatest love and the biggest fun imaginable. They saw the world together. Dotsye was an Administrative Assistant in Marketing and a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune.
Dotsye had a love for the Lord, and a love for people. She never met a stranger. If she wasn’t talking about her faith, she was talking about her love for her family. She loved them so deeply and made sure they all knew it everyday. Dotsye believed that having faith in Jesus, and working hard could make anything possible.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Jack Ray and Maggie Bell Grant Coon; her brother, Bobby Ray; and her son, Thomas “Ken” Kenna Walker.
Survivors include: her husband, Thomas “Tommy” Ray Walker; her son, Winston Walker and wife Rhonda; her daughter in law, Vanessa Walker; her 3 grandchildren, Laine Walker, Lauren Walker, and Brooke Walker; and her sister, Norma Jean Guillot; and several nieces and nephews.
