If you like what you have, keep doing what you are doing, because you will get more of the same.  Do you like what you have?

In Jan 2014 Thad Cochran voted, with the majority of Democrats, for a $1.1 trillion spending bill. Do you like the national debt of $17.5 trillion, $51,600 for every man, woman, and child in America? Can you imagine taking out a loan to pay your portion of that back? As a citizen, you, your children, and grandchildren are obligated to pay it back. Sure, everyone wants all kinds of “free stuff” from the national government – but it is not free!  Someone will eventually have to pay for it, or the country will have to default. Neither prospect is good for the average person in this country. Do you like massive debt? Do you want more of it?

In 2013, Cochran voted to end debate and allow Senate Democrats to re-insert funding for ObamaCare into the continuing resolution to fund the federal government.

Although Cochran did vote against the final bill, he and all Republicans knew that voting for cloture to end debate would allow Senator Harry Reid to fund ObamaCare by a party-line vote, and thus a vote for cloture was a de facto vote to fund ObamaCare. Do you like ObamaCare? Do you want more of it?

The Federal Education Department has spent hundreds of billions of taxpayers’ education dollars on expanding its own federal bureaucracy, while American educational performance has plummeted. Cochran voted for No Child Left Behind. Do you like it? Do you want more of it? How about some Common Core?

In 2012, Cochran voted for the infamous New Year’s Day 2013 “fiscal cliff” deal that raised taxes on 77 percent of U.S. households, with extra tax hikes on higher income earners. Do you like it? Do you want more of it?

Washington’s top corporate lobbyists raised $800,000 for Cochran to help in the runoff. Small donors only contributed one percent to his campaign. Do you want a Senator who is beholden to lobbyists?

Cochran’s supporters opened the runoff June 4th by signaling that they seek the votes of Democrats during the three-week campaign. Is that what you want from a Republican Senator?

From Feb. 1979 to Jun. 2014, Cochran missed 395 of 12,597 roll call votes, which is 3.1 percent.

This is worse than the median of two percent among the lifetime records of senators currently serving. Do you want this kind of performance?

Cochran’s main claim to fame is bringing home the bacon. But how will that work when/if he retires before his term is out?

He is 76 years old, and rumors abound about his lack of mental acuity.  So how exactly would that pork plan work with a freshman Senator who is appointed, not elected, in that job? If you want pork for Mississippi, will you get it?

Earmarks, minimum wage, internet sales tax and increasing the debt ceiling are just a few of the things he has voted for, while voting against fiscally conservative budgets. Do you really want more?
