Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church for Leonard Randolph, 93, of Picayune, Miss. Pastor Donald l. Parker will officiate at the service.
Brother Leonard Randolph departed this life on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was born November 8, 1921 in Ponchatoula, La., to the late Reverend Julius and Aldonia Randolph.
He was united in holy matrimony to Catherine Black in August of 1985.
Leonard joined the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church family at an early age. He attended George Washington Carver School and was a veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the Picayune Black Sox baseball team and the Pleasant Valley Quartet.
Leonard was preceded in death by: his parents, Julius and Aldonia Randolph; his wife, Catherine; and three siblings: Eliza Hawkins, Adelle Lee and Andrew Randolph.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving daughter, Lenora (Joseph) Burton; two children, who was passionately cared for as his own; Sandra Thomas of Picayune, Miss., and Yvonne Black of Gulfport, Miss.; three grandchildren: Taneshia (Garrick) Brock, Jermal and Rickara Randolph all of Picayune; six great-grandchildren: Treveaon and JaKorrey Brock of Baton Rouge, La., Jalen Thomas, Kylee, Jeremiah, and Dillon Randolph all of Picayune; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 10- 11 a.m.
Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery with Military Honors.
