T.J. House’s time in the majors was brief, but productive.
The former all-state standout at Picayune High made his Major League debut over the weekend by pitching a perfect inning for the Cleveland Indians in 6-2 loss to Oakland.
House spent four days with the parent club after being recalled from triple A Columbus. On Wednesday, however, House was sent back down to Columbus as the Indians made a few roster moves.
DH Jason Giambi was activated and right-hander Trevor Bauer recalled from Class AAA Columbus.
Bauer made his second big-league start of the season Tuesday night against Justin Verlander and the Tigers. Giambi, on the DL since May 5 with a sore right calf, was not in Terry Francona’s lineup.
Utility man Justin Sellers, along with Bauer, was recalled from Columbus. To make room for the three new arrivals, Jesus Aguilar, House and Jose Ramirez were optioned to Columbus.
Bauer is taking Danny Salazar’s spot in the rotation. He was 4-1 in seven starts at Columbus. He also made a spot start against the Padres on April 9.
It was the second time in a year that House sepnt time with the Indians, but his first apperance at Jacobs Field.
Last season, he was brought up for three games as the Indians played Baltimore in Camden Yards but didn’t see any action.
