Hornets move on

POPLARVILLE — Poplarville wrapped up its Class 4A South State opening round prep baseball series with a 2-1 win over visiting Magee Friday night.
The win, combined with the Hornets’ 9-5 win in game one on the road Thursday night, clinches the series for Poplarville and the Hornets will move on to face Columbia in the second round next week.
