Mrs. Shenett Hurd was born November 10, 1958 to Mrs Mable Louise Hurd in Picayune, Miss., She was the fourth of eight children. In 1974, she moved to San Francisco, Calif., where she united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Kenneth Ray Davis. To this union four children were born: Miyaka, Ulysses, Kenneth Jr., and Jasper.
Shenett was a very sweet, loving and shy person; who had a special love for her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed watching love stories, spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite color was purple which symbolizes royalty. Shenett was called home by her heavenly Father on March 14, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Kenny Ray Davis; her son, Jasper Davis; her mother, Mable Louise Hurd; and her grandmother, Mary “Granny” Nelson.
Survivors include: three children: Miyaka Hurd Cooper (Terrance), Ulysses Davis (Tasha), and Kenneth Ray Davis Jr. (Keyonna), all of San Francisco; four brothers: Jackie Hurd (Ruby) of Hayward, Calif., Ray Hurd of San Francisco, Steven Hurd (Teresa) and Donell Magee of Picayune, Miss; four sisters: Vanessa Hall (Donald), Angie Peters, Demetria Hurd, all of Picayune, and Denise McCaskell (Fredrick) of Stockton, Calif.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a dear friend, Patricia Brown.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ. The Elder David Simons will officiate at the service, assisted by Elder Jackie Hurd and Elder Steven Hurd.
