Funeral servicse will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Weems Chapel United Methodist Church for Robert D. Pickett, 77, of Picayune, Miss. who passed away February 13, 2014 at his home.

The Rev. Leon Cooper will officate at the service. Burial will be in the Picayune Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.

A native of Picayune, Miss., he retired from Rockwell International (NASA). He was a member of Weems Chapel United Methodist Church, former church choir member, former chairperson of the Methodist Men, former Sunday school teacher, and former president of the Methodist Men.

He was a1956 graduate of George Washington Carver High School, graduate of Alcorn State University, school teacher and coach at Raleigh high School, Raleigh, Miss.

He was preceded in death by: parents, George and Sallie Pickett; one sister, Laura Pickett; two sons, Roderick D. Pickett and Anthony G. Pickett.

Survivors include; wife, Rena Pickett of Picayune;  one son, Darius Pickett of Baton Rouge, La.; three daughters: Jancie Pickett Green of Baton Rouge, Laura Denise Pickett and Kathyn Dedeaux, both of Picayune; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be February 15, 2014 from 9-11 a.m. at Weems Chapel. Baylous Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
