Pedestrian struck on I-59 North
The Picayune Police Department responded to an accident involving a pedestrian on U.S. Interstate 59 North on Monday afternoon, said Jeremy Magri, assistant to the chief.
“On Feb. 10 at 2:41 p.m., we were dispatched to I- 59 northbound mile marker 7 in reference to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle,” Magri said. “Upon arrival, officers observed the pedestrian to have severe injuries and an ambulance was dispatched to the scene. Upon the ambulance’s arrival, the pedestrian was transported to Highland Community Hospital for treatment of injuries.”
The case is under investigation, Magri said.
