Funeral Services for Edith J. Frierson, 82, of  Picayune, Miss., who passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014, will be held Monday, February 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Flat Top Unity Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home and on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 10-11 a.m. service time at Flat Top Unity Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Bro. Randy Shaw and Bro. Doyle Moore will officiate the service.

A lifelong resident of Picayune, Edith was a loving mother and grandmother; she was an exceptional cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Edith had an unwavering faith in God and was a faithful member of Flat Top Unity Baptist Church. Edith worked for the Picayune Item for over 30 years and was the circulation manager when she retired.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Edward J. Johnson and Bessie Carney Johnson; her husband of over 48 wonderful years, Oliver “Bud” Frierson; her granddaughter, Aileen Moore; her great-granddaughter, Lauren Self; her three sisters: Bertie Mae Furr, Myrtis Christine Regan, and Dorothea Frierson; her two brothers, John Albert Johnson and Charles Nathan Johnson.

Survivors include: her three daughters, Linda Moore and husband Doyle, Janis Stockstill and husband Kenny, Beth Malley and husband Roger; her son, Wendell Frierson; her eleven grandchildren: Myrna and Doug Kiper, Kara Moore, Rebecca and Charles Bowers, Rachel and Shawn Self, Nick  Stockstill, Anna Stockstill, Mark Frierson, Madison Frierson, Lesli and Josh  Jordan, Kelsi Malley, Brock Malley; five great-grandchildren: Stephanie and Thomas Vest, Doug Kiper Jr., Nikki Moore, David Self, and Shaelynn Self; and her sister, Ann Chilton.
