The award-winning Christian Comedian, Mutzie, will be performing at Union Baptist Church in Picayune, 1628 West Union Road, on February 14. The evening of laughs will begin at 7:30 p.m. Mutzie presents a clean hilarious comedy show that is fun for all ages.

Donald and Gail Fail met the comedian on a Carnival Cruise ship in 2006.

A resident of Diamondhead, Mutzie accepted Christ several years ago and changed his act to reflect his belief system.

“His main job is Carnival Cruise Line but when he is off of the boat, he performs at local churches,” Donald said. “He sells his cd’s and DVD’s after performances and he gives a good portion of his proceeds back into various ministries.”

Fail has translated his meeting on the cruise into a Facebook friendship with the performer.

Fail said that when the performer posted that he was looking for churches to visit, he knew his church would love him.

“I wanted it for Valentine’s Day because I thought it would be fun to have couples go out to eat and come to his performance for free entertainment,” he said.

“I think people will most enjoy his humor. He feeds off of the audience and he is very personable. You can relate to him.”

Mutzie has appeared on six seasons of BET’s Comic View. He was named New Orleans Entertainer of the Year twice and the Funniest Person in Louisiana three times.

Admission is free and a love offering will be taken.
