Funeral Services for Ruby Helen Smith , 85, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014, will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 10 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Friday, January 31, 2014 from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Family Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Randy Barlow will officiate the service.
A native of Pearl River County, Miss., she attended Business College during the 1960’s. Ruby was a Homemaker and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who will be truly missed.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Frank Baucum and Lillie Mae Jarrell Baucum; her brothers, Freddie Baucum, Willie Baucum, Archie Baucum, Jessie Baucum, Junior Baucum; and her sisters, Edna Spence, Lesie James and Shirley Baucum.
Survivors include: her husband of 64 years, Herman Stecil Smith; her son, Therman Smith (employed by Verso Paper Mill); her grandchildren: Shane Smith and wife Sue (both employed by Stennis Space Center), Supervisor Sandy Kane Smith and wife Cathy (Dental Asst. at Kiln Dental Center), Tangy Smith Franklin and husband Bobby (Tangy-former teacher of Picayune Junior High School and Bobby-CSX Railroad Manager); 9 great-grandchildren: Savannah and husband Randy, Maverick, Stettson, Hunter Kane, Walker, Tristen, Garrett, Landon, and Gracie Maye; her daughter-in-law, June Garcia Smith; her sister, Mary Grace Genson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
