Funeral services for Ruby Dean Rouse, 81, of Picayune will be held at New Beginnings Baptist Church on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. Rev. Charlie Wash, Jr. will officiate the service. Rev. Joey Mark is pastor.
Ruby Dean Wash was born May 15, 1932 to the late Louise Pearson and Howard Wash in Laurel. She is one of fourteen children.
She was raised in Picayune where she attended Picayune Colored Schools. At an early age she joined East Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E. Hart. Later in life she joined New Beginnings Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Joey Mark.
Ruby is united in holy matrimony to the late Charlie B. Rouse. She was employed as a C.N.A. and caregiver for many years. Her hobby was fishing.
Ruby Dean Rouse ended her earthly walk on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Slidell Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard Wash & Louise Pearson; her husband, Charlie Rouse; five sisters, Mary Bounds, Frozine Lenore, Madie Harry, Elizabeth Wash, and Gloria Senior; four brothers, Howard Wash, Artice Carter, J.D. Wash, and C.W. Watts.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: one son, Rev. Charlie (Pairlee) Wash, Jr; five granddaughters, Gabriel, Ruby, Wendy, Madie, and Talisha; Great grandchildren, Gabriella, Catherine, Brandye, Kimyann, Jasmine, Charlie, Keegan, Kelton, Elijah, Bransyn; one great-great-grandchild, Ja’Murhi; two sisters, Carolyn Williams of Las Vegas, Nev. and Annie Lee (Rev. Charles) Harold of Portland, Ore.; Special friends, Margie Bounds, Gene & Darlene Meier, and Edward & Josie Whitfield, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Picayune Cemetery. Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home, 601-798-4469. brownsfuneralhome@ymail.com.
