On May 21st, 1957, the world welcomed t
he beautiful Donna Brun Forbes.
Being a native of Lumberton, Miss., Donna graduated from Lumberton High School in 1975 where she participated in many sports and was a majorette. She furthered her education at Pearl River Community College. There, she was on the String of Pearls and majored in Business and graduated with her Associate Degree.
Donna had many great talents of artistic nature and could be found dabbling in pen & ink and paints; creating beaded jewelry; crocheting fashions for her many loved ones and gardening.
On December 6th, 2013, her time here was complete and her Father called her home.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Bishop officiating.
Donna will be remembered fondly by her family as Daughter to Sherry Scallan; Better Half to Don Fleming; Sister to Sidney and Van Brun; Mother to Robert Wesley Holmes, Samantha Holmes Perrot, Nicholas Key Forbes, and Ian Cole Forbes; Step-Mother to Ashley Bickham, Brandon Fleming, and Blake Fleming; and Nana to Will, Julian, Bailee, Mason, Ruby and Kaycen.
A person like Donna is not forgotten; rather she lives through the lives of the people she touched.

About Barbara Mizell
Barbara Mizell began working for the Picayune Item in 1993. She started during the "cut and paste" days of the newspaper, and was the first to create a newspaper page using the computer for the Item. She has served as Composing Supervisor and honorary Religion Editor. Of all the contributions she has made over her 20 years at the Item, she is most proud of the World War II book "The Greatest Generation." Barbara was born and raised in the White Sand Community on Lee Hill, she has also written many short stories about growing up on the hill.
