Funeral Services for Challen Reece O’Meara , 52, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013, will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013, at 1 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Unity Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

The Rev. Carl Heberg will officiate the service.

A native of New Orleans, La., Challen was a pipeline welder since he was 18 years old. He became disabled in 1999, from an accident at work. He met his wife, Hattie in October 2000 and they married March 14, 2001. Challen was a very loving and caring person, always helping his family and friends, before caring for himself. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Charles O’Meara; his grandparents, Colbert and Lee Edna Horton, and Walter John and Jeannette O’Meara.

Survivors include: his wife, Hattie Costello O’Meara; his children: Charla Ann Marie Cuevas and husband Kerry, Brittany Nicole O’Meara, LaDonna Ellis, Jason Ellis, Willie Ellis, and James Ellis; 3 grandchildren: Caileah Nevaeh Cuevas, Kerrington Danae Cuevas, and Channing Dayne Cuevas; his mother, Dorothy Ann Horton O’Meara; and his sister, Marie A. O’Meara.
