Annie Jean “Gina” Cohn, 57, departed this life on Tuesday December 3, 2013 at her home in Picayune, Miss., surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on November 8, 1956, to the late Percy Adams Sr. and Martha Adams-Wilkerson in Bogalusa, La. She was the fourth child of ten children.

She married the love of her life, Mr. Willie Ray Cohn on January 12, 1985. They were married for over 28 years. Next month would have made 29 years.

She was educated in the Tangipahoa Parish Public School System in Kentwood, La. After moving to Picayune, her love for cooking led her to employment as a food service worker in the Picayune Public School System. She used her passion in the kitchen at the Roseland Park Elementary School until she started to have health problems.

She was a member of the Temple Chapel Baptist Church in Kentwood, La., for many years under the leadership of the Rev. Herbert Garner. After moving to Picayune she joined the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Elder Harvey Bernard. She later joined Agape Chapel Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Vernessa Ducre, where she served on the hospitality and fellowship Sunday committee.

She was preceded in death by: her father, and her grandparents, the late Murray and Annie Lee “Huff” Taylor; one sister, Deborah Adams- McCoy; one brother, Gillis Roy Robinson; and one sister-in-law, Beverly Lewis-Robinson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted husband, Willie Ray Cohn, her mother, Martha Wilkerson, her mother-in-law, Helen Cohn; four brothers: Terry Adams, Baton Rouge, La., Woodrow (Rosita) Taylor Jr., Los Angeles, Callf., Stefonce Robinson, and William (Deidra) Robinson both of Picayune; three sisters, Ethel Taylor, Picayune, Dr. Vernessa Ducre, Poplarville, and Chantay Robinson of Norwood, La. A nephew who was raised as her brother, Harry (Avis) Taylor of Picayune; one brother-in-law, Curtis (Sharon) Cohn, Amite, La.; sister-in-law, Ann Cohn (Stanley)-Bailey, Baton Rouge La.; three very dear friends, Jewel Powell, Picayune, Charles Ray McDonald of Picayune, and Wayne Dunn, Norwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Trinity Outreach Ministries.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 5:30-8:0 p.m. in Brown’s Funeral Home Chapel and Thursday one hour prior to service time. The Elder Harvey Bernard will officiate at the service, assisted by Dr. Vernessa Ducre. The Rev. Carl Flowers is pastor.

Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery.
