Funeral Services for Miriam McClendon Franklin, 77, of  Carriere, Miss., who passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013, will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 12-1 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in West Union Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Pastor Chris O’Brien will officiate the service.

A native of Poplarville, Miss., she was retired from the Department of Human Services, Supervisor of Child Support Division. Miriam was a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Oscar Leroy McClendon and Elvie Rester McClendon; her husband, Lamar Franklin; her brother, Gary McClendon; and her brother in law, James Kirkland.

Survivors include: her children, Cynthia Howell and husband John, Ronald Lamar Franklin, Kevin Michael Franklin and wife Kerri, Mary Suzanne Franklin and partner Rick Ward; seven grandchildren: Brittney Franklin, Jayson Franklin. Joshua Franklin, Elijah Franklin, Miriam Howell, Justin Franklin, and Dustyn Franklin; three great-grandchildren: Nola Franklin, Jaxon Franklin, and Cameron Franklin; her brothers, Barry McClendon and wife Sue, Andy McClendon and wife Betty; her sisters, Linda Kirkland, and Sharon Peters and husband Stan; and her sister in law, Pat McClendon.
