Richard “Rick” Dean Seymour

Richard “Rick” Dean Seymour, 24 year resident of Carriere, Miss., passed away on August 13, 2013.

Born on October 8, 1957 in Lakeland, Fla., to John Richard Seymour (deceased) and Georgia Brannen Seymour; he is also survived by: his loving wife, Vickie Carbo Seymour; five children: Brad Anthony Marrero Sr (Lydia), Tomidee Venable Guillot (Geoffrey), Lauren Michell Venable, Robert Lee Seymour, Kyle Joseph Scivicque; four grandchildren; brothers; Byron Keith Seymour (Elizabeth), and Michael Kevin Seymour; as well as numerous aunt’s, uncle, nephews and nieces.

Rick proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 4 years, stationed in Bearing Sea, Alaska; Seattle, Wash.; last duty station 1982 New Orleans, La. He was also a member of the Louisiana National Guard for 16 years, serving with 141 Field Artillery in New Orleans, and the 205 Engineering Battalion of Bogalusa, La., where he was deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, and was a member of the local VFW No 3804. Rick was retired after 20 years of service, from Delgado Maritime, Fire and Industrial Training Facility, in New Orleans.

A memorial service in his honor will be held at Picayune Funeral Home, 815 S. Haugh Ave, Picayune, Miss., on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rick’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project at http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
