The Poplarville Hornets had some success in 2012 on the gridiron as they advanced to the Class 4A state playoffs for the first time since the 2007 season.

The Hornets ended the year with a 4-6 season overall and a loss in the first round of the state playoffs to Quitman High School on the road.
