A Carriere man is in custody for burglarizing two tobacco stores on June 30.
One stores burglarized was in Carriere and the other was in Picayune.
Dennis Larsen, 50, of 15 Oak Hill Drive, was first arrested on July 1 in connection to the Carriere burglary, said Donnie Saucier, Chief Investigator of the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office.
The Picayune Police Department identified Larsen as a suspect through surveillance videos from the Picayune robbery and by cooperating with the Sheriff’s office, determined he was the same suspect arrested in the Carriere tobacco store burglary, said Jeremy Magri, assistant to the chief of police.
Larsen is suspected to have stolen an undetermined amount of merchandise from the Carriere store and an undetermined amount of money from the cash drawer in the Picayune store, authorities reported.
“The Picayune Police Department has signed charges for commercial burglary and a hold was placed on Larsen at the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office,” Magri said.
Larsen is in custody at the Pearl River County Correctional Facility.
