Jules Joseph Defourneaux, III

Jules Joseph Defourneaux, III, 80, of Picayune, Miss., passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at his residence.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. A Mass will follow at 12 noon with Father Mike Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Biloxi National Cemetery.

A native of New Orleans, La., Jules was retired form Domino Sugar Refinery and he served in the U.S. Navy. Family and friends will remember him as willing vonlunteer and an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 6872. Jules was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be truly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jules J. Defourneaux, Jr.; mother, Ethel Fleetwood Pegram; and sister Gayle D. Finkelstein.

He is survived by his wife Fay Lynn Defourneaux of Picayune; one son, Jon Joseph Defourneaux of Texas; two daughters, Joelle Ann Defourneaux of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Julie D. (Mark) McCulla of Mandeville, La..; two sisters, Barbara A. Defourneaux of Picayune and Carol D. Schlink of New Orleans, La.; three granddaughters, Emily, Elizabeth and Katherine McCulla; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Joseph’s Hospice of Mississippi, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, or Senior Center of South Pearl River County.
