Funeral Services for Dan Dawsey, 80, of Poplarville, Miss., who passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 10 a.m .at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
The Rev. Billy Galloway will officiate the service.
A native of Hancock County, Miss., he owned and operated Lawn Mower and Small Engine Service since 1970. Dan was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing Blue Grass Music, and camping at Blue Grass Festivals. Early in his life, Dan played with various local Gospel groups.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Rufus L. Dawsey and Magnolia Fleming Dawsey; his first wife, Ina Burks Dawsey; and his sister, Bertie Thompson.
Survivors include: his wife, Johnnie H. Warren Dawsey; his children, Kenneth Ray Dawsey and Joy Fleming and husband Scott; his step-children, Mary Douglass and husband Allen, Cynthia Mulvaney and husband Bill, and Charles Warren; his three step-grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, and Taryn; his sisters and brother, Ruthie Bonnafons and husband Fred, Leonard “Dick” Dawsey and wife Bonnie, Helen Lee and husband James, and Irene Farmer and husband Jim.
