The Senior Center of South Pearl River County held their 4th Annual Volunteer’s Appreciation Luncheon on February 28th at the center.

Darlene Adams, Executive Director, welcomed volunteers and their guests. Dr. Keith Warden, of First Baptist Church, gave the devotional. Picayune Memorial High School Navy ROTC presented the colors; Tyler Huber sang the National Anthem. Volunteers enjoyed a delicious lunch, served by the Civic Woman’s Club of Picayune.

City Manager Jim Luke, was the guest speaker. He thanked the volunteers for making a difference in their community. He also spoke about the new city hall building progress and its grand opening.

Senior Center volunteers were recognized and awarded certificates. Special recognition and gifts were given to the center’s weekly class Instructors. Participant Services Coordinator Kathleen Penton, presented “Volunteer of the Year” awards to Edna Creel and Frank Egger for having the most service hours for 2012. Board Secretary Carol Fitzwilliam presented the “Special Board Recognition” award to James Danton and Debbie Bounds.
