Members of the Friends of the Library have assembled cookbooks. The Cookbook Project is a fundraiser for the Crosby Library’s book budget which has suffered a drastic loss of funds due to budgetary cuts over the last three to four years. The cookbook itself celebrates 50 years of service to the community since the Crosby Library was opened in February of 1963, as well as the 50 years of service and support of the Friends of the Crosby Library which was founded in September of 1963. With over 700 recipes and a number of photographs with history notes, the cookbook also contains a number of heritage recipes. These are recipes that have been handed down from one generation to the next. The cookbooks, which are being offered at an introductory price of $15, will make wonderful Christmas gifts for cooks and history buffs alike. The books will be available at the Crosby Library’s circulation desk during library hours and will soon be available at several locations around the city.
