CONFEDERATE ROSE

This Confederate Rose is growing in Poplarville. This member of the hibiscus family is not native to the United States, says Pat Drackett at Crosby Arboretum, but is an old fashioned, Southern favorite that grows larger than most hibiscus. She says it is a plant often given to newly weds because it is hardy and hard to kill.
