Richard “Pete” Thiberville, 82, of Picayune, Miss., lost his battle with cancer and entered the gates of heaven to join his beloved wife and son, Tuesday, September 4, 2012.

Friends and family are invited to attend Funeral Services on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 2 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.

Father Kyle Dave will officiate the service.

A native of New Orleans, La., he lived most of his life in New Orleans, La., but spent the last fourteen years in Picayune. Pete was a retired Bell South/AT&T employee and a member of the Louisiana Army National Guard. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Pete enjoyed cutting grass, tinkering, and having fun with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Arthur Joseph Thiberville Sr. and Clara Hubbell Thiberville; his wife, Florence Doyle Thiberville; one son, Richard Joseph Thiberville Jr.; and two sisters, Anna Mae Christman and Virginia “Minette” Thiberville Jilek.

Survivors include: three sons, Harold Thiberville and wife Donna, Richard “Terry” Thiberville and wife Fay, and David Thiberville and wife Tammy; one daughter, Michelle Cummings and husband Mike; 10 grandchildren, Heather Thiberville Bacque, Nicole Thiberville Parks, Ashley Thiberville, Richard J. Thiberville, Jr., Caitlyn Thiberville, Michael S. Cummings Jr., Daniel Thiberville, Courtney Cummings, Casey Cummings, and Megan Thiberville; one great-granddaughter, Sydney Bacque; one brother, A.J. Thiberville Jr., and one sister, Claire Thiberville Fielding.
