Reader takes offense with ‘Activist’ article

It seems to me that the article titled “Activist accepts criticism of her groups proposals” by Mr. David Farrell published on August 9, 2012 is out of place. Based on the tone of the article it seems that it would have been better placed as Editorial rather than as a news article.
Mr. Farrell seems to feel that Ms. Knezevich is somehow wrong in involving herself in the political process of running the county by attending county commissioners meeting on a regular basis. I am confused by the commission’s initial decision not to honor Mr. Knezevich, or anyone else’s request to address the commission on the agenda. What was the legal reason for this decision?
I find Mr. Farrell’s description of Commissioner Hales “Shaking his head and rolling his eyes” response to Ms. Knezevich’s presentation as disrespectful.
We elect people to do a job for us in running our county but that does not excuse us as citizens from the responsibility to keep ourselves informed and to participate in the political process within the legally recognized framework.
