William Edward Gordon

William Edward Gordon, 84, of Carriere, Miss., passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at his residence.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 15, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Central Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Galloway officiating. Burial will follow at Carriere Cemetery.

William was a member of Central Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a locomotive engineer, a retired District Chief of the Federal Railroad Administration and a Master Mason. He was a member of York Rites, Scottish Rites, Shrine and the Eastern Star.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Clyde and Opal Gordon; one daughter, Susan Marie Gordon; and one sister, Margarie Gordon.

He is survived by: his wife of 61 years, Mollie Gordon of Carriere; two sons, William E. Gordon, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., and Joe Michael Gordon of Elmer, La.; two sisters, Ollie Mae Synnott of Houston, Texas and Magareet Tyre of Madison, Miss.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
