Picayune Police arrest business owner on drug charges

A Picayune business owner is charged with conspiracy to sell a controlled substance out of his business.

Picayune Police Capt. Chad Dorn said several months of investigation led to the arrest of 24-year-old Brett Boudreaux and 44-year-old Lori Boudreaux, both of 27 Dogwood Dr., B, in Carriere.

The investigation led investigators to believe prescription medication was being sold out of Brett Boudreaux’s business, Performance Automotive, at 306 U.S. 11 N, near Third Street, Dorn said.

The department conducted several months of undercover operations that included an attempt to purchase prescription medication at the business after hearing that such medication was being sold from the business. Dorn said both suspects are charged with attempting to secure prescription medication to sell to the undercover operatives.

Evidence collected in the investigation allowed investigators to secure a search warrant, which was served Tuesday morning at about 10:48. Dorn said that during the search investigators found digital scales, a cigarette roller, empty plastic bags, a large amount of burnt, hand-rolled cigarettes containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and a Glock .45 caliber handgun. Dorn said 17 Xanax pills were found in the cash register, also.

Brett Boudreaux additionally was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to sell a controlled substance, the Picayune police captain said. Brett Boudreaux also was jailed on a warrant from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear for bad check violations, Dorn said. Lori Boudreaux additionally was charged with conspiracy to sell a controlled substance, Dorn said.
