Main Street Spring Street Fair time

This year’s Spring Street Fair is April 14th and 15th from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. up and down East and West Canal Street as well as North and South Main.
Picayune Main Street, Inc Manager, Lauri Stockstill says, “We are excited about this year’s Spring Street Fair because we have some new attractions and entertainment.”
In addition to vendors from Miss., La., Ala., Tenn., Fla., Mich. and Texas there will be lots of good food. A variety of traditional fair food such as: Chicken on a stick, funnel cakes, onion mums, snow balls, fudge, ice cream, steak sandwiches and jumbo corn dogs will offered. Some new foods this year will be, smoked barbeque, pulled pork nachos, white beans and shrimp, beignets and coffee.
There is an outstanding line up for both of the entertainment stages. Saturday on the South Main Stage, attendees will see: Loose Mood Band — starting at 10 a.m., Woopie and The Skeeterbait Band — 11:30 a.m., The Bad Mama Jammas — 1 p.m., Autumn Rise-N — 2:30 p.m. and Jeff Bates— 4 p.m.
Saturday on the East Canal Stage: Roseland Park Cheerleaders — 10:30; Pistols and Petticoats — 11 a.m.; Pineywood Cloggers — 11:30 a.m.; Karate — noon, Sonnett’s Dance Academy — 1 p.m.; Zumba — 1:30 p.m. and Liberty Road Band — 2:30 p.m.
Stockstill says, “On Sunday, starting at noon, visitors can see Melanie Wilkinson, South 59 and The Back Porch Band. Mr. Wayne Wilson’s “Cloud Nine” simulated plane ride will be set up on East Canal. There will be many activities for the children to enjoy such as inflatable jumps, face painting, Euro bungee and many other events. The Boulevard Cruisers will show on Saturday and Fat Boyz Bikes will show on Sunday. There will be something for everyone and this is a wonderful community event that the whole family can enjoy.”
