This Friday and Saturday offers several options for getting out of the house and having a good time.
The Senior Center will be having a garage sale on Friday, March 23rd, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are located at 45 El Patch Pkwy., behind Wal-Mart, off Frontage Road, behind the Kobe Grill. Hours of Operation: 9 a.m. — 3 p.m. Donations appreciated and it is not too late to bring them by during hours of operation. For more information call 601-798-9892.
The Picayune Main Street Easter Egg Drop will be held on March 24th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Picayune Municipal Airport. There is a $1 per car parking fee. Fun for the entire family: Inflatable jumps, games, radio control show, food, raffle (a chance to win $250, $100, $50 dollars you can purchase tickets from local shops in Downtown Picayune or at the event) and eggs dropping from the sky. Pearl River County Arts League will have their “Spring 2012 Art Show and Festival,” at the Knights of Columbus Hall, behind Dockside, with show times of Saturday, March 24th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 25th from noon until 4 p.m. Entries will be accepted beginning March 22nd from 5 to 8 p.m. ending Friday 23rd, at noon. There will be two paintings raffled to benefit the Margaret Dawsey scholarship fund. For more information call 601-798-7306.
Dragons Watch Forge and Foundry will be hosting the yearly event, “Fire in the Swamp — 2012,” beginning Saturday, March 24th, at 7 a.m. until Sunday, March 25th, at 6:30 p.m.
Larry House, owner of Dragon’s Watch with his wife Gwendolyn, says, “We are welcoming back local artisans teaching Raku, demonstrating blacksmithing, copper repousse, and metal casting. This year we will be welcoming a potter from Carriere. We will have audience participation projects and door prizes.”
