Pawdi Gras 2012, an event held to benefit the Senior Center of Picayune with some proceeds going to benefit the Pearl River County SPCA and Animal Rescue Association, continues to give back to the community.

The most recent donation to be made as a result of Pawdi Gras was from Carolyn Terry, of Carolyn Terry Photography. Terry took pet photographs at the event against the official Pawdi Gras backdrop for a greatly discounted fee for all who attended. She developed the photographs, touched them up and added a black and white art portrait as a surprise donation of her own.

Her fundraising effort minus expenses enabled her to make a donation of $100 to the SPCA shelter.

“I also included a reorder sheet in the pet photo packet so that I can track anyone who places a reorder and give a portion of that to the SPCA as well,” said Terry.

Shelter President Maria Diamond, said, “The Pawdi Gras event has resulted in increased merchandise sales and the adoption of our Pawdi Gras King, Marley. We are thankful to both the Senior Center and Carolyn Terry Photography for their generosity and support of our shelter.”
