LeAyn Walton has been named Director of Member Services at Coast Electric Power Association. Walton, formerly the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Financial and Administrative Services John Holston, will take on a role that is new to her and the cooperative.

The position was created to enhance efficiency and consistency for Coast Electric’s member service functions throughout the company. Coast Electric serves more than 77,000 members in three counties in six offices, so making sure policies are uniform will mean better service for members.

Walton has been an employee of Coast Electric for more than nine years, beginning her career in the company’s call center. Working in the call center and then with the VP of Financial and Administrative Services allowed Walton to gain knowledge and expertise in several areas of member service.

“LeAyn was a natural choice for this position,” said Coast Electric President and CEO Bob Occhi. “She is a hard worker and has dedicated herself for several years to making sure our members receive a high level of service. This position means better service for our members and I think LeAyn is the right person to lead our team of member service representatives.”

Besides her success at Coast Electric, Walton is also the president of the Bay St. Louis/Waveland Rotary Club, is a Red Cross Hero and heads up Coast Electric’s Hancock County Community Service Committee. She is a Certified Administrative Professional and will receive a Bachelor of Science in Workforce Development from William Carey University this spring.

Walton’s department, which includes nearly 40 employees in the cooperative’s call center and the member service representatives working in all Coast Electric offices, will be under the direction of Vice President of Marketing, Public Relations and Member Services Ron Barnes, APR.
