Kenneth Joseph Belsome II was born January 2, at 7:02 p.m. at Highland Community Hospital, making him the New Year Baby for 2012. The son of Erica Larsen and Kenneth Joseph Belsome  weighed 7.13 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Mom, Erica, was the Crosby Memorial New Year Baby of 1990, so little Kenneth is just holding up the family tradition.

Pediatrician Dr. J. Abraham Rodriguez said, “The baby looks wonderful. He is healthy and a good looking baby.” 

The staff at Highland welcomed him with two diaper bags full of newborn necessities and organizational items for his nursery.

Chief Nursing Officer of Highland Community Hospital, Mary Beth Cooper, said, “It is always a joy to welcome a new life into the world and our community. We are especially excited with the birth of our first baby for 2012.

“We are grateful for our staff and physicians who provide exceptional experiences for our moms and babies as well as our patients who trust us with their care all year long. We wish baby Kenneth, mom and dad the best; we are always here if they need us.”
