Picayune Police are looking for a person or persons involved in the recent burglary of a local pharmacy during which a large amount of narcotics was taken.

Capt. Chad Dorn said that at about 4:42 Thursday morning officers were dispatched to Picayune Drug in response to a burglary. A perimeter check after they arrived did not find any signs of forced entry. However, once a person with a key to the business arrived to let officers enter, an interior search discovered the suspect or suspects had gained entry to the business through the roof.

The suspect or suspects took a large amount of prescription narcotics during the time spent inside the pharmacy, Dorn said.

Investigators would appreciate the community’s help in identifying and locating the suspects, the police captain said. Dorn says anyone who has information about the crime should call Detective Chris Toft at 601-798-0374 or Crime Stoppers 601-799-CLUE(2583).

Tips can be made anonymously and information leading to an arrest and conviction could make the person providing the tip eligible for a monetary reward, Dorn said.
