A Hancock County man is being charged with murder after being caught with another man’s girlfriend, according to the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department.

Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department investigators were called to the shooting Friday night at about 10:53 p.m. at a home located at 2957 Miss. 43 S., said Sheriff David Allison.

The woman on the line said her boyfriend had been shot. Investigators arrived to find 33-year-old William Sylvester Graham, of 160 Whitehead Lane, Carriere, dead from a gunshot wound to the upper body and the suspect had fled the scene, Allison said.

Interviews with witnesses determined prior to the shooting Graham had arrived home from work a couple of days early to find his girlfriend in bed with 37-year-old Gary Dwight Hall, of 100 New Kirk, of the Catahoula community in Hancock County, Allison said.

A physical altercation broke out between Graham and Hall and at some point during the fight Hall reached for the gun he had in his duffle bag, shooting two shots at Graham, Allison said.

Hall turned himself into authorities at about 4 a.m. Saturday and was charged with the murder of Graham.
