Winners of the Pitmasters Barbecue contest

Shown left are the Grand Champion winners of the Pitmasters Barbecue Contest: Steve & Debra Hamilton from Bull & Bones BBQ in Theodore Ala. Bull & Bones scored 1st place brisket, 1st place pork, 2nd place ribs and 3rd place chicken. The only seasoning allowed was Chef Paul’s rub for Boston Butt and Brisket. The students used their own rub developed in the class for Ribs and Chicken. Some used apple juice which is encouraged. Apple juice help keep the meat moist but does not change the flavor.
