Funeral Services for Gary Dale Bess, 76 of Picayune, who passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his family and friends, will be held Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 11 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
The Rev. Bradley S. Aumann will officiate at the service.
A native of Jordan Mines, Va., he was a Mechanical Engineer for NAVO. He played golf at Millbrook Country Club and was a member of the Buggers Golf Club. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, and Paw Paw who will be truly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Andrew Bess and Raydie Arritt Bess; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: his wife of 40 years, Mary Ann Runkle Bess; his daughter, Robin (Roger) Smith; his step-son, Robert Dannemiller; his four grandchildren: Blake Smith, Blake Aldridge, Hannah Cooper, and Donovan Cooper; his brothers, Pat Bess and Julian Bess; and many nieces and nephews.
