Hattiesburg police have arrested a 49-year-old Patrick Stephon Lang and charged him with murder in the shooting death of his wife.
Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict said Pamela Lang, 50, was pronounced dead by a physician at Forrest General Hospital at 1:10 p.m. Monday. An autopsy was being conducted.
Police say officers responding to a call about a shooting found Pamela Lang in the carport of a home.
Police says Patrick Stephon Lang was found lying in tall grass at the edge of a nearby field. He was arrested without incident.
Patrick Stephon Lang was being held without bond in the Forrest County jail pending an initial court appearance.
